Textile Treasures at Dunollie

I was delighted to be awarded one of two Research Bursaries from Women's History Scotland for 2019.  Their grant facilitated my travel and accommodation to Dunollie Castle Museum and Grounds, Oban in September.

This is where the incredible collection of artefacts which speak of everyday Highland life amassed by Hope MacDougall over the twentieth century now live.  Amongst them are boxes and boxes of textiles - clothing, fibre, yarn and ephemera of making by hand.

Reflections on my initial foray into the delights of the knitted textiles held in the Hope MacDougall Collection there can be found in my report on the Women's History Scotland site here
